Description:
Exploring Shipley Plateau below Arthurs Lookout in search for evidence of mining activity. Information received from Stephen Imrie and commented on by Brian Fox, “I found the trial coal mine at Shipley Plateau located at an elevation of 1000m. A map dated 1952 which was compiled for the Shipley region mentioned 2 trial coal mines but I could only find the one. (I followed the same contour level for another 100m or so). Like you I have not found any further information on this coal mine.”
