Capertee Creek Gorge and Mount Dawson
Park at GR 420 250 and walk up Capertee Gorge all the way to the non-negotiable waterfall at GR 387 242, checking out an interesting short canyon and tunnel just before that point. Now, walk back a few hundred metres, climb out on the northern side and walk to Mount Dawson. From there, head east to a pass at GR 393 238 and come back down into the Capertee Creek Gorge. Keep under the cliff line this time, whilst making our way back. The first section is through private property; access has been arranged. Partly exploratory. About 12km. Scrambling and exposure.
2 litres of water, GPS, PLB, first aid kit, appropriate head and footwear, electrolytes, maps, compass, tape (leader only). Change of gear for afterwards.
Note: Walk Reports will be available to download for 1 month after the walk.
